Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangeas...

It's hard to believe we're in the third week of August, and our boys will be heading back to school in two weeks. We're soaking up each remaining summer day, while slipping in some back-to-school shopping here and there.

I know some of you are experiencing very high temperatures and humidity. For us, in Seattle, we just started having the best weather of the season, with temperatures in the 80s and lots of sunshine. Some summers here are like that, which makes returning back to school a little tough! Let's stay in denial and talk flowers... :)

I wanted to share our first blooms from our new Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea plant with you... The blooms have a whimsical cone shape, and will continue to get larger in the coming years as the plant matures.

When the buds first open, they are a beautiful white color (Vanilla). As the warmth of the summer continues, these flowers begin turning a soft pink color (Strawberry), as pictured. Later in the season, the blooms will turn a deeper shade of pink.

What a show!

And his sister, Rosemary...

I hope you have a great summer day and week ahead...

Thanks so much for stopping by!
