Fall Dining Outdoors...

Hi Friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed the first week of fall. As we were driving home today from our son Lincoln’s soccer game in Seattle, my husband and I were noticing how beautiful the fall leaves looked against the bright blue sky. (It’s something we don’t take for granted here in the Pacific Northwest!)

It reminded me of our “Autumn Alfresco Dining” section in our new book, Little Farmstead Living: Creating a Country Life Just Past the City Limits. I’m excited to share these images, that are excerpted from the book, with you…

I chose this location in our yard because of the surrounding maple trees, whose leaves were just beginning to change color, and the beautiful hops vines growing over the fence…

A fall centerpiece including dahlias and black-eyed Susans echo the warm shades of autumn.

Branches with dried leaves create a nature-inspired table runner of sorts.

Fresh persimmons add a charming touch to each place setting…

Thank you for visiting today!

I hope maybe you’ll consider moving dinner outdoors to take advantage of these beautiful fall days…
